Doug was to go see a primary care physician 30 days after he was released from the hospital on May 29th. We chose a doctor, Dr. James Love, because he was in the same building as mine. We also thought it was time to see a younger doctor below the age of 70. Doug's first appointment with Dr. Love was on Thursday, June 26th.
Here is a statistic that Dr. Love quoted to us,
"Ninety to ninety-five percent of stroke patients have
most of their recovery within the first 90 days."
This news was a little depressing for both of us since Doug's left hand and arm still need to be rehabilitated as well as the strength in his left leg. Doug and I are choosing to think positive and not living life as a statistic. We are believing in a full recovery in every possible way whether it is in 90 days, 6 months or 2 years. We have FAITH and HOPE on our side.
