Four Years, 25 Days
It has been over four years since Doug had his stroke. I am amazed sometimes at how well Doug handles his limitations. It seems like he is always looking for the positive side in everything.
Doug is still partially paralyzed on his left side: foot, leg, hand, arm, and face. He does have a little feeling in some areas on the left side. It's a wonder he can even walk, but thankfully he can get around pretty well.
His knee and foot hurt on a daily basis mostly when he walks, but he rarely complains of the pain. And on other days his thigh, hip and hamstring will sometimes hurt.
Doug usually puts in a full day at the office. His job mainly requires him to be available to talk to people in his office, in the court room or on the telephone. Business has been steady and we continue to thank God for meeting all of our needs.
Doug continues to have hope and grows stronger everyday. God has been with us each day and we continue to live one day at a time.
