Lacey's class had two pet gerbils to give away to two worthy students. To acquire the gerbil, the student had to first get permission (in writing) from a parent and second do a research paper on how to care for gerbils. Only Lacey and one other girl wanted it bad enough to do the research paper; therefore, Lacey is the proud owner of Bella. My hope is that this new addition will teach Lacey some responsibility and keep her from getting bored this summer. I told her, it is "her" baby.
