Jaley left yesterday for Mexico but is going to be back home tonight. Evidently the town they were going to had a lot of rain (hurricane Alex) in that area which caused a mudslide on the main road into Jerez. Her youth pastor got a phone call from the people in Jerez. The other youth team leaving had to return to Jerez because of the road block and another highway they could have taken as a detour had a bridge out.
Jaley's group spent the night in Austin and then went to a place the next morning to pass out their sleeping bags and pillows they were going to leave in Jerez. Then, they were asked to help pass out clothes and food for another group to the homeless people. Jaley's group donated some of their money they would use for food and spending money for the next week to an mission that just opened up. ($450.00) The youth pastor said the couple of this mission almost started crying. I am glad that Jaley was able to participate and make a difference in Austin, Texas.

It sounds like they did a great job improvising their mission trip! Hope Jaley gets to go back to Mexico soon.
